Experience

In college, I spent two years as a Social Media Intern for the university. I got to work with a team of student creators, build a recurring series, and expand the social media reach. I’ve also done student campaigns with Amazon Prime, Urban Decay Cosmetics, Aquaphor, and Dreyer’s Drumstick.

Prior to JS2 PR, I worked as a freelance content creator in the tech, entertainment, and beauty industries, which helped me learn quickly in new environments.

Education

B.A. in Corporate Communication and Journalism - Public Relations with a minor in Media Management from Baylor University in Waco, TX. Currently, I’m pursuing an M.A. in Public Relations & Advertising from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, CA.

3 Questions With Jasmine

  • What’s the best thing you cook?
3-layer brownies: one layer of peanut butter cups, one layer of melted chocolate mixed with Rice Krispies, and one layer of actual brownies.

  • When was a memorable time you made lemonade out of lemons?
My birthday “party” in June 2020! COVID restrictions meant we couldn’t physically get together, but that didn’t mean we wouldn’t celebrate. I made baskets of paint, canvases, brushes, party hats and cupcakes, and delivered them to my friends’ doorsteps. We all got on a Zoom call for a few hours to hang out and paint following a Bob Ross tutorial together.

  • Why do you love working in food and beverage PR?
In 2016 I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease, and quickly had to learn about different foods and ingredients. Trying to discover what is safe and what I like is something I still struggle with. Clear communication and awareness in the food and beverage industry is something I’m passionate about, and love that I can combine that with my creative career goals.
